Semester Courses

Programs Offered Each Semester

Enrolling in Courses

Each semester, students must enroll in required and elective courses and orientation seminars by the deadline indicated on the academic calendar. Enrollment is through the SIGA platform: http://www.sigass.fiocruz.br.

Enrolled students must attend at least 75% (seventy-five percent) of their classes and scheduled activities.

Students may enroll in courses offered by other CAPES/MEC-accredited graduate programs and later request re-validation of credits.

The following categories of students are eligible for enrollment:

- Regular students: Students with the Master in Communication of Science, Technology, and Health.

- Outside students: Students from other master’s degree or PhD programs offered by Fiocruz or other public or private institutions. These students may enroll in required or elective courses if space is available and at the discretion of both the course professor and the Graduate Committee.

- Special students: College graduates who are not enrolled in any master’s degree or PhD program. These students may enroll in courses offered by this program if space is available and at the discretion of both the course professor and the Graduate Committee.

REVALIDATION OF CREDITS

Credits earned for courses attended as part of other CAPES/MEC-accredited graduate programs may be revalidated at the discretion of the Graduate Committee. The student should file a request and submit proof of credits earned (Declaration of Program/Grade; course syllabus).

Credits earned at any graduate program more than four years prior to the student’s enrollment with the PPGDC are not eligible for revalidation.

CANCELLING OR SWITCHING COURSES

Students may cancel or switch courses so long as a request is filed by the deadline stipulated on the academic calendar and pursuant to the criteria established by the Office of the Program Chair.
